On July 20, 2023, Chen Xungang, president of SPIC (Guangdong) Comprehensive Smart Energy Innovation Research Institute Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “SPIC Innovation & Research Institute”) and his team visited KAPSOM. Dong Weijia, Executive Deputy General manager of KAPSOM, received President Chen and discussed the development of green energy such as green hydrogen, green ammonia and green methanol, as well as future cooperation opportunities.
During the meeting, President Chen said that as a super-large state-owned key enterprise directly managed by the central government, SPIC shoulders the important mission of ensuring national energy security. The group has photovoltaic power generation, wind power, hydropower, nuclear power, coal power, gas power, biomass power generation and other power sources, and is the world’s largest photovoltaic power generation, new energy, renewable energy and clean energy enterprise.
The SPIC insists on taking green as the main tone of industrial development, promoting clean energy to become the main body of energy increment, and forming a green and diversified industrial structure with clean energy as the main body. As of September 2022, the total installed capacity of China’s power investment exceeded 200 million kilowatt, of which the installed capacity of clean energy accounted for 62.75%, and the installed capacity of photovoltaic, new energy, renewable energy and clean energy all ranked first in the world.
The SPIC Innovation and Research Institute plays an important role in extending the new energy follow-up industry chain, such as the use of green electricity generated by distributed photovoltaic wind power resources to produce hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and other back-end product applications. They plan to join hands with high-quality new energy industry chain suppliers to jointly promote the integration of supply chain, industry chain, value chain, innovation chain and ecological chain to create a green energy industry ecology.
The visit of President Chen’s team to KAPSOM is not only because of the breakthroughs made by our company in the fields of green ammonia and green methanol in recent years.
